The Shetland Sheepdog is an intelligent, understanding small to medium sized breed of dog. It originated in the 20th century and is native to Scotland, where it was named Shetland sheepdog, or "Shetty" for short.
The Shetland Sheepdog is very similar to the Collie Sheepdog, and its lineage can be traced back to the time when the Scottish Border Collie was strayed to the Isle of Shetland, where it was mated with smaller, intelligent, long-haired dogs to obtain a reduced proportion of the breed. Later, from time to time, they were mated with long-haired type Collies. So the present-day Heeler Shepherd is associated with the long-haired Collie in size and general appearance in much the same way as the Heeler Dwarf is associated with the larger horse.
The Heeler Shepherd has been around for over a century and is one of the most popular breeds in Japan, mainly in England and North America. The head of the Heeler appears delicate, with a long, blunt wedge shape that tapers from the ears to the direction of the nosepiece. The expression appears refined and intelligent. He is alert when confronted by strangers. The eyes are medium in size, dark black in color and almond-shaped. The ears are small, tough and high, and they fold forward in the lounge. The nose is black, the lips are tight, and the teeth are neat and even.
The neck is well muscled, rounded and arched, and has plenty of length. The back is horizontal and strongly muscled, the chest is deep, the ribs are well expanded, the loin is slightly arched and the hips taper back. From the front, the front legs are straight, well-muscled, strong-boned and well-defined, and the hind limbs are wide, well-muscled and strong-boned in the upper limbs. From the back, the metatarsals are straight.
The tail position is low, with sufficient amount of hair, slightly extended upward, and will slightly increase in height when moving.
The coat is double, the outer layer is long, rough and straight, and the bottom hair is soft, short and dense. The mane and neck are especially rich in trim hair.
He is loyal and loving to his owner and is very pleasing to the eye. The personality of the Pleasant is different depending on the personality of the owner, because they are born to be with their owner, so they are greatly influenced by their owner, they are loyal and affectionate to their owner, and are very loyal to their owner.
He is loyal to his owner, but he is wary of strangers and is very alert. So it is a good working dog and family dog.
He has a high IQ and good understanding, so it doesn't take much effort to train him and he can do well, and he can usually be trained to increase the amount of exercise.
Since the coat is long, you should also pay attention to grooming and removing stray hairs in general.
