China is the origin of the civet cat, which is a natural cat because it is a breed that has been preserved through the natural elimination of many breeds over thousands of years. 2003 CFA China Great Wall Cat Club applied internationally to show the Chinese civet cat to the world as a unique Chinese cat breed, and after seven years of effort, it was passed at the CFA Houston Board Meeting on February 8, 2010. The civet cat is one of the earliest natural breeds to appear in the records of Chinese cats, with a wide distribution, strong mousetrap ability, lively, active, good balance, intelligent and sensitive, a working cat breed with a strong, well-proportioned body, but not hardy because it does not have a thick bottom fleece. The civet cat first gives a powerful, masculine feeling, regardless of male and female cats. The coat is particularly short and coarse, with no thick undercoat, a strong and proportionate physique, a well-developed muscular body, a sense of movement, and limbs of moderate length, sturdy, strong and agile. The tail length is slightly shorter than the body length (body length refers to the beginning of the tail bone to the shoulder blade), and relatively thick, no twisting phenomenon. The eyes are large and shrewd slightly hanging upward, forehead, jaw angular, bite tightly, intelligent, good movement, but poor resistance to disease and cold. The nose is long and straight, no obvious bend, smooth lines, and the color and the body pattern color is proportional, that is, the darker the color of the nose part, the more distinct the body stripes. The hind paws are parallel to or slightly higher than the front paws. Body length to height (height is the height from the top of the scapula to the ground when viewed from the side. Body length is from the top of the sternum to the top of the hindquarters). The body is wide and strong from the front, the whole back is basically flat from the side or the shoulders are slightly unobtrusive, from the back, the distance between the two legs is small, the legs are close to each other is, the legs are straight and strong. The distance between the two ears is nearly two and a half to two and a half times the size of the eye, the width of the nose is equivalent to the size of an eye, the protrusion between the two ears, the position of the outer corner of the eye is slightly higher than the inner corner of the eye. The eyes are bright, clear and alert. The ears are moderately sized and slightly smaller, thinner in outline, and open in the direction of the basic front, with no more than 15 degrees of deviation to the second side. The chest is broad, with no rotation of the chest hair, flat, short and close to the body. The back is flat and free of protrusions and depressions. The ears are wide open. Male and female cats differ greatly in size, by about 10 to 15 centimeters. Adult male cats are large in size and should be over ten pounds, while female cats are not less than eight pounds as adults. The back hair of male and female cats differs greatly, with male cats being coarse and hard and female cats being relatively soft. The Chinese civet cat is a sensitive, affectionate, brave, flexible and loyal to its owner, with good memory, good imitation and excellent balance. It is independent and has more personality.
