The Nevada cat is a long-haired Russian blue cat (details), which was recognized as a new breed by TICA in 1987. It is a rare breed of cat, known as the "aristocrat of the long-haired breed", which is the same as the Russian Blue Cat except for the coat. Historical Origin In the 1960s in Europe, especially in the UK, the Russian Blue cat had a tendency to return to its original short stature and dark coat. American breeders therefore created a variant with a delicate head, body and paws, a lighter coat and a lighter weight. The Russian Blue cat became hugely popular in the United States and Japan (where it is simply worshipped), and in the 1980s, after several crosses, a semi-long-haired Russian Blue variant called the nebelung was created. This extremely rare variant was recognized as a new breed by tica in 1987. Known as the "aristocrat of the short-haired breed", the newest Russian Blue cat to emerge as a long-haired breed is the Nevada. This is a cross between a Russian Blue cat and a family cat, but it is not easy to show the green eyes characteristic of the Russian Blue cat, and it is difficult to predict the future breed of this cat. The coat is not very long, but only the tail hair is richer; except for the coat, the rest is the same as the Russian Blue Cat.
There are not many Nevada cats kept in China, and the purchase price is about 2000-3000 for domestic cats that are not purebred or racing grade.
